RUL's second action concerns the initiation of projects that meet the recommendations defined by the partners at forums.

The main projects currently managed by the RUL deal with :

Public transport

• Implementing a multi-modal travel information system
• Studying a common fare-pricing system

Economy

• Promoting the main industrial estates and key-branches of the urban region
• Developing global business intelligence (implementing economic indicators at metropolitan scale)

Logistics

• Defining a joint plan for a rational and long-term development of this branch (involving companies and public authorities)
• Developing business intelligence (providing specific figures and information related to the evolution of this branch

Tourism

• Developing new opportunities in the tourist market focussing on specific areas (the first phase deals with 20th century architectural heritage. Other subjects are being defined)

For most of these projects, the RUL :

• conducts and finances studies on specific subjects related to the issue
• leads working groups to encourage the partners to agree on project specifications
• is in charge of managing the projects
• bears the costs of the first measures taken to initiate the projects
